The figure of the Manager of the Environmental Management System is useful, who is responsible for the operational functioning of the same: it can be identified as an internal resource (the director himself or an employee, or in an external resource).

His task is to:

  • manage system documentation (ie keep archives, regulatory repertoire, documentation up to date);
  • perform internal and external audits of those who wanted to qualify as "environmental quality suppliers";
  • proceed with the qualification of suppliers of goods and services and of "environmental quality";
  • take care of performance and environmental conditions control as well as management of "non-conformities" and corrective actions;
  • organize internal and external training plans as well as internal and external communication plans.
